About TK NCC Sea

In Tanjong Katong Secondary School, there are two NCC units - Land and Sea. While the Land unit offers a huge variety of land-based activites, the Sea unit provides opportunities for our Cadets to take part in both land and sea-based activites, hence broadening their horizons and allowing them to learn new, beneficial skills.

 

In TK Sea, we have a strong desire and the passion to groom each and every one of our Cadets to achieve their fullest potential. Our Cadets are imbued with moral values and essential skills required in their daily lives.

 

Our leaders have been fully equipped with leadership and competency skills as they have attended many leadership camps and trainings. Over the years, the unit has been led by capable leaders, who constantly strive to do their utmost best regardless of the difficulties  faced. We believe in moulding our cadets to become responsible and upright men in the future. Training sessions have provided us the opportunity to instill a sense of responsibility in our juniors, as well as strengthening the bond between the seniors and juniors. This allows our unit to strive together as a whole, overcoming the myriad obstacles posed on us.

 

Being in TK Sea provides Cadets with a panoply of opportunities to involve themselves in a smorgasbord of activites, ranging from Courses such as the First Aid Course and Survival Course to Sea Activites like the Annual Kayaking Expedition to Camps such as the Leaders Camp. 

 

As the name suggests, being in TK Sea allows Cadets to enter the waters every  once in a while. However, before entering the sea, Cadets will be trained by qualified instructors in their kayaking and dragonboating skills. This will holistically develop our Cadets - furnishing their skills to their utmost ability, yet forging stronger bonds with their fellow platoonmates, at the same time cultivating their adventurous spirit within them.
